Jeff George assumed the position of Head of Sandoz in December 2008. Previously, he was Head of Asia, Middle East, Africa and CIS for Novartis Pharma, a position he took on in April 2008. In this role, he was responsible for leading teams and driving business growth in over 65 emerging markets.
Jeff joined Novartis Vaccines in January 2007 as Head of Commercial Operations for Western and Eastern Europe. In this position, he was responsible for managing and building the Novartis vaccines business across more than 25 European countries.
Prior to joining Novartis, Jeff was Senior Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development for a division of Gap Inc., the global clothing retailer. Before this, he was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company and worked in emerging markets private equity in South Africa and the US.
Jeff, who is a US national, holds an MBA from Harvard University and a Masters from Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where he focused on international economics and emerging markets political economy. He also holds a BA in international relations from Carleton College in the US.
